Committee Descriptions and Responsibilities:

Join an MA World Service Committee! There are currently sixteen total committees, subcommittees, and ad hoc committees (as needed):

Check out the 2026 Conference Trustee presentation slides which features goals, summaries, and accomplishments from the past year.

Read the various Committee Handbooks that serve as an example and provide guidance for District-level Subcommittees.

Contact the appropriate Trustee for support and to join committees. There is no sobriety requirement to join a committee. If you have questions about which committee may be a good fit for you, contact Support@MA12.org

Conferences and Conventions (CoCo) Committee

  • Acts as liaison between past, present, and future Host District Convention teams to facilitate communications, information sharing, and collaboration
  • Supports facilitation of the MA World Service business Conference

Finance Committee

  • Entrusted with the responsibility of organizing the financial affairs of Marijuana Anonymous World Services
  • Supports Districts, Regions, Groups and Meetings in accurately recording their finances by providing templates and guidance

Hospitals and Institutions / Public Information (HI/PI) Committee

  • We strive to reach marijuana addicts who are still suffering, as well as their families, loved ones, and professionals in the addiction and recovery fields
  • Resource for districts/regions and independent meetings that inquire about carrying out HI/PI within their jurisdiction.
  • Establishing guidelines for sharing information with the public and focus on developing effective ways to carry the message of recovery worldwide
  • Manage social media outreach by pitching stories about MA to news outlets and recovery focused media and forming partnerships with health professionals and community organizations.
  • Explore and Develop Public Awareness Campaigns in a Variety of Formats (Digital, Print and Outreach lists).

Internet Committee

  • Responsible for serving all of MA World Services’ internet-related functions
  • Maintains the MA World Services Meeting Finder listings
  • Supports the implementation of the PI website redesign
  • Management and development of the websites and the MA App

Literature Committee

  • Drafts and recommends for approval Marijuana Anonymous’ literature
  • Book of Stories Subcommittee is a working session of the Literature Committee that reviews new stories for their implementation in various projects.

Literature Translations 

  • Oversee the creation of new foreign language translations and share the translations handbook as guide for this process

Newcomer Support

  • Responds to requests for support from those who are new to the MA fellowship by offering program and meeting information through direct correspondence and introductory workshops
  • Hosts the Newcomer Support Events about Sponsorship, Marijuana Anonymous and more

  • Responsible for maintaining the MA Service Manual, and issues concerning the structure and organization of Marijuana Anonymous World Services

A New Leaf Publications

  • Publishing department of MA World Services
  • Oversees and administers the publication, distribution, and business of MA literature and publications for the purpose of carrying the message of recovery and service to the society of MA and entities outside of MA
  • Responsible for MA literature after its creation, facilitating the process of getting MA literature into the hands of members and the addict who is still suffering
  • Obtains and selects content for, and publishes and distributes MA’s monthly literary newsletter, 
    A New Leaf, and the Daily Dose email with each day’s reflection from Living Every Day with Hope, and hosts a monthly Writing Workshop
