Policies and Procedures (P&P) Committee

The MA World Services Policies & Procedures (P&P) Committee is responsible for considering the relationship between the Fellowship of MA and the nonprofit of MA World Services.

This Committee aims to:

  • Regularly reviews, discusses, and recommends changes to best practices and documents, such as the Service Manual, to ensure that all policies and procedures serve our primary purpose and the growing needs of fellowship as a whole.
  • Ensure that the Service Manual is updated according to the World Services Conference directives, proactively exploring and presenting ideas to improve upon the Service Manual.
  • Considers the relationship between MA as a Society, MA World Services as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, and MA’s legal rights and obligations. Including debating and recommending policy changes in the Service Manual and other policy documents of MA
  • Maintains the Service Manual and the Conference Motions Log
  • Works proactively to understand and ensure that World Services adheres to the Twelve Traditions of MA, addressing issues that need clarification on World Services policy.

Current Projects:

  • Develop training and resources to support Trustees and Special Workers in their various roles to make being of service more accessible.
  • Collaborate with Outreach Committee to further revise Service Manual (SM) Chapter 11 (District/Region Officers) and Chapter 4 (Meeting Officers) to ensure those chapters are consistent with current meeting, group, and district practices.
